April 23 Meeting - Tour of UF Ruskin Facility

Our April meeting will be Saturday, April 23.  We will be getting a tour of the University of Florida, Tropical Aquaculture Lab (TAL) in Ruskin, FL. We will meet in the parking lot at 9:45 (tour will start at 10 am).


TAL works with the tropical fish industry in Florida to develop sustainable captive bred fish for aquariums.  they work with both freshwater and saltwater fish.  They are partnered with the Rising Tide Conservation and are currently working with tangs.


After the tour, we will break for lunch and then head over to the Florida Aquarium's Conservation Campus in Apollo Beach.  The turtle rescue facility is now open to the public.


And, time permitting, a little coral shopping at Life Oceanic in Ruskin
