  2. My 2 cents, instead of removing everything from the tank just remove the sand a section at a time then allow enough time (say 2 week) for the tank to recoup. The more sections you make the better. Once most if not all the sand it out then you can add back the sand you want. It will take time but you shouldn't get much of a new tank recycling. This will take time but should be less stressful on you and the tank and its inhabitants. John Sent from my SM-G965U1 using Tapatalk
  3. Hello fello reefers, do any of you have a favorite scuba shop in fort Myers or close by? I am looking into getting scuba certified. I'm thinking there might be discounts for training due the the time of year. Thanks John Sent from my SM-G965U1 using Tapatalk
  4. Calc reactors are really not that scary, once you get over the few hurtles of setup and adjustments its basically set it and forget it. I have run a calc reactor since I started in the hobby over 10 years ago, I prefer it over dosing. John Sent from my SM-G965U1 using Tapatalk
  5. Hello fellow Reefer's I am in need of some help, my reeflo hammerhead pump needs to be sent in for service and I dont have a pump to fit my plumbing. Does anyone have a reeflo hammerhead pump they would be willing to RENT to me for 2-3 weeks while mine is in service? I have already spoken to reeflo and they quoted me prices for a new ($299) and refurbished pump($199), I just cant see paying $199+tax and shipping for a pump that will be used for 2-3 weeks and then collect dust waiting for another failure. If someone could help me please let me know. Thanks John Sent from my SM-G965U1 using Tapatalk
  6. I'm definitely going however I may have a plus one.
  7. Is there more information on the keys trip? Where, who to call to make reservations and such?
  8. Hello everyone, In the near future I will be doing a complete rebuild of my approx 700gal system. I am in need of a small system say 75 to 100 gal to house my fish and coral while the rebuild is taking place. What would be ideal is to borrow/rent a unused system for 4 to 6 months. I don't really want to buy something as I won't need it after the rebuild is done. If someone can help me please PM me. Thanks John aka jtspeedy21 Sent from my SM-G965U1 using Tapatalk

  10. Boardroom aquariums has I think 1" or could be 3/4 red and blue in 3 foot lengths. Each bag has 3 pipes that are 3 feet long. Hope this helps John Sent from my SM-G965U1 using Tapatalk
  11. I'm been looking for a 125 like this for a long time and this system is complete and would work for my plans BUT at present time the only problem is money! 800 seems respectable but I just dont have it. Will be following this post. Sent from my SM-G965U1 using Tapatalk
  12. For the most part the media is turning into a fine sand but not clumping. I've had this reactor for many years and what I can tell ya is it can be a pain at times. The hardest part is getting the 3 setting just right(water in,co2 in, and output drip) if one is set to high or to low the reactor doesn't work well if at all. It takes constant adjustments to dial it in. Sent from my SM-G965U1 using Tapatalk
  13. Hi fellow reefers, I have a MRC dual chamber calcium reactor that has a blue line/Pan World 10PX 180gph as a circulation pump. My question to you all is for you think the reactor would function better is I replace the current pump with one that has an output of 750gph? The reason i thinking about this is with the current pump doesn't seem to be circulating the water in the first chamber as much as I'd like. I am seeing excess c02 bubbles in the chamber which is not what I'm supposed to be seeing. Your thoughts please! John Reynolds aka jtspeedy21 Sent from my SM-G965U1 using Tapatalk
