Bump. There has been a slight change of BOD positions than listed above. For anyone interested, please pick up a copy of the by-laws at the auction. FYI, BOD meetings are open to the public and have generally been the same day as club meetings.

Please don't respond with "I didn't know" or "I never heard about any meeting"

All future meetings will be posted on this website and an e-mail will be sent to all club members.

We have gotten a lot of feedback (good and bad). Communication was the #1 item. We are hoping that the e-mails will fix this. The rest is directly or indirectly a lack of active participation (in part, due to lack of communication). Please keep in mind that 95% of what has been accomplished this year is the result of 4 people. There have been lots of good ideas, that we just can't implement due to lack of personell. In other words, if you are interested in becoming a BOD please post up. We plan on having formal elections before the end of this year!

Yes, we need to get some fresh blood on the board, and fill positions.

The President position at this point is open, as I will be unable to run again in the coming year!

I would like to volunteer to participate in next years BOD. I will speak with current BOD at the auction to get a feel for what the duties of each position are.

Glad to hear it!! The by-laws that will be distributed in October include the BOD positions, appointed positions and the position responsibilities. There is a link at the bottom left of the SWFMAS page for By Laws. This is the first draft copy. Some of the positions were streamlined. One or two were eliminated, as they do not relate to the club (at this time).

i agree with scott and dawn. I nominate myself (Alan) for secretary.

If there is anyone interested in running for Treasurer I'd be more than happy to run for VP....if not I'm sticking to only having one position this year.

I'm want to run for the BOD as Membership Chair... but if Cristina twists my arm really hard, I could be talked into running for treasurer. I'd rather run for membership and try to help out with getting club to membership communications improved. Even if it's just an online or e-mail newsletter! See you all at the next meeting.

OK, so I'd like to run for the BOD/Membership position and I'd be more than happy to take on the job of Newsletter Editor as well. I'm pretty comfortable around computers (we have 3 of them in our house). The database for membership shouldn't be too big a task to learn (my ex-wife was the membership chair in a 1200 member sportscar club in Ohio) and I was the Newsletter Editor (and BOD member) for the same club. I did a 32-40 page (8.5" x 11" format) magazine every month. I probable have software to get that started. I'm also a pretty good photographer (at least I was of race cars... fish and corals are a little newer to me ) and have a new Olympus digital camera with great close up ablity and an 18X optical zoom.

If I had a way to post a photo or 2 here I'd show off a few. But I guess I need to start up an account somewhere so I have a URL address to use? Is that the only way members can upload photos to the website?
