I'm planning on switching back to T-5's. For sale is the following:
Quote:
The most popular reflector on the market today! The Lumenarc III delivers an intense and more precise light distribution pattern over a significantly broader area at higher ceiling heights than conventional reflectors are capable of. It is constructed from lightweight specular aluminum and features 12 optically engineered facets surrounding the lamp. It also features an adjustable socket assembly that is capable of centering high wattage Metal Halide and High Pressure Sodium lamps within the reflector. It has the most even distribution and highest reflectivity of any reflector on the market. The hood dimensions are 19.5” x 19.5” x 8.5” tall. Optional A/C kit allows air cooling of the reflector and bulb through 2 4" duct attachments at either side of the reflector and includes glass. (BELOW ARE NEW PRICES!) Lumenarc III ($129.95) http://lumenarclighting.com/proddetail.asp?prod=L3 That was NEW price ... these are used. They are less than 6 months old. The AquaConnect bulbs are $115 /EACH! Will sell each reflector/ballast/+ 1 XM Bulb & 1 AC bulb for $350 /each __________________

i have a prediction by this
Submitted by rorchilles on Tue, 2008-04-15 23:25.i have a prediction
by this time next year you will have changed your lightng @ least 3 more times and you will be using a solaris led and preaching the values of led lights above all others
or maybe you will just drag
Submitted by rorchilles on Tue, 2008-04-15 23:26.or maybe you will just drag your tank outside and do an all natural sun lit tank
i really doubt i can justify
Submitted by wiszmaster on Wed, 2008-04-16 01:28.i really doubt i can justify the cost of the solaris - therefor .. no. Do i think they work ... time will tell, but there are plenty of people who say yes.
I'd love to try them out ... but the $$$ isn't there for that large scale of a lighting project.
outside? Oh buddy ... you don't even know. I've been trying to figure out how to incorp a remote sealed fuge & algae tank that would be outside in natural sunlight. probably far fetched looking at how i'd have to run it.

Submitted by jdhuyvetter on Wed, 2008-04-16 10:00.Think my SPS will grow under that?
FYI, I have decided to start phasing out my lighting on the 300 and go with LED's. I'm probably going to buy the indivdual panels from Clearly LED and do one fixture at a time. PC's will be first.
