Submitted by wiszmaster on Fri, 2008-02-22 00:59.those were actually of cristinas tank - but I switched as well. I needed a different light setup - the lights i was running over the 265g were carried over from my 150g setup. I didn't add any lights. they were stretched, and not enough.
It was cheaper for me to convert to MH, than to buy the additional ballasts that i needed to make the T5 setup as i wanted. This is in NO way me saying that T5's don't work, or that MH are supperior - I still stand to my opinion that T5's are a better route .. but i'm not doing great in the $ department with work being slow ... and it was time to change bulbs ...

But no tripod - shot those freehanded.
I will take come more .. once things in my tank look a little less stressed out. Hopefully in 2-3 weeks things will look a bit better.
I'd really like to pickup a 100mm macro ... but they are about $470 + shipping.
Been looking for someone local that has one, to borrow for a day - If i cannot find anybody locally - I might end up renting one via the internet from a glass rental shop. www.rentglass.com is near orlando, and they are pretty affordable.

Scott & I have been talking
Submitted by wiszmaster on Sat, 2008-02-23 01:00.Scott & I have been talking for a while about taking pictures of our tanks. This week I charged my cameras batteries for the first time in several months. I really need to clean my lenses & image sensor in order to make a shooting day worth while.
There are a few corals in Scotts tank that should make for some stunning pictures!
