but i wonder if the diameter is too big.

How much do those run for?

I also like the sunpod
30" would be nice so it just fit the tank perfect
but the guy at blue water coral said i would do fine with

we had the fixture over a 20"x20"x20" tank ... was fine for it.
I believe they run NIB for about $299 ... we've had it since end of October. Comes with a 14,000K bulb (150w MH)

The bulb should be good for quiet a few more months. It hasn't been used that much. W/out a light meter it's hard to day, but it should be a while.
