I have a Blue Tang and lately it's been constantly head butting the glass. It keeps ramming it and attacking it, usually in one spot. When she does it her stripes (The "Palette") will fade and allmost turn a whitish gray. I'll put my hand by the glass and she hides, then comes out and swims around normally. What is her problem???? Is she going crzy, attacking her reflection, what??! Its really irritating and I'm worried that she'll hurt herself. Thanks __________________

My tangs pic at the algae on
Submitted by Alexander on Wed, 2008-01-09 09:34.My tangs pic at the algae on the glass, but their colors never fade during the feeding. On the other hand, I have a yellow wrasse who spends all day swimming against the glass, but is otherwise healthy. If its colors are changing, I would think he is interacting with its reflection.

Submitted by Flcracker94 on Wed, 2008-01-09 20:01.I have a Foxface that is a tiny bit bigger. I've had the Tang for 6 months. She isn't picking algae because there is no algea on the part she's hitting. I cleaned a ton of algae off the side today and she started hitting that side a little....
Maybe she is eating algea I can't see and the pale stripe is an illusion or something....
