I mentioned in an another thread on RC than an on-line reefer friend of mine gave me some fabulous frags as a gift. I know that when I first started my reef, I had to buy EVERYTHING and boy do corals add up!

I'd like to help up someone who is just starting their reef locally. One of my first corals was a pink pulsing xenia. If you haven't seen this softie coral, it opens and closes and moves of its own accord. It is a fast growing coral that delights vistors that see my tank.

This coral thrives in all but the very worst tank conditions and lighting.

Please let me know if you would like a stalk of my xenia and I will frag a piece (with the base rock.) Email me at watterson_mel@hotmail.com. One frag available.

Melanie, I'm glad to see

Melanie,

I'm glad to see that others are doing this as well.
I have offered frags to many people that are getting started and are trying to setup this tanks - There are a few people around here that helped me out when I was getting started, Scott (keinreis) & Mike (mduval), as well as others.

This is a great thing to do .. as well as making sure certain species will still be around in case that someone has an issue with their tank & looses certain corals.

Scott & I have been doing this for a while, when either of us buy a "colony", we give each other frags of it to make sure JUST IN CASE either one of us looses it, there will still be some around.

Thanks a bunch for helping out the hobby & assisting future generation of reefers!

Take care,

marco
