Hello, i have a ASM skimmer the G3 from them. I love the skimmer a lot I got thinking the other day to drill a couple of holes in the lid of the cup. Now the performance has improved more and i get a lot more skimmate These pics were about 24 hours after cleaning and running that is a lot of nasty stuff there.

You're skimmate is so light tear colored .. have you tried running it a little bit dryer? you may get more buildup in the neck though ... just a thought.
Have you noticed more production now with the PBT in there?
want me to post up some pics of mine after a week of running? rofl. just too bad we cannot transfer the smell through the intarweb.

Submitted by absolutbill on Thu, 2007-11-15 00:26.I am currently running the ASM G1 and my skimmate looks just the same as above. What is the advantage of running the simmer drier? I know there will be less watter in the collection cup and more dry foam. Any one know the best place to buy ASMs I am looking for a G-2 for my 125 i will be setting up soon.
Thanks
Running the skimmer less
Submitted by wiszmaster on Thu, 2007-11-15 01:55.Running the skimmer less wet, or drier AFAIK just causes less water to be taken out of your tank - when you run wet, it's also easier to overflow (if you feed your tank with just the right stuff, or paint inside the house)
Ryan @ Saltwater Solutions sells the ASMs - at least he used to ... not quiet sure how his prices compare to online stores, but no shipping & wait might be worth it.
Jeovani @ Artistik Aquariums sells the Bermuda skimmers ...
I don't think any of the other stores sell stuff other than coralife & red sea (berlin) skimmers ... I know rich @ boardroom sells some made out of white pvc looking material.
Good Luck!

I run my skimmer on the wet
Submitted by keinreis on Thu, 2007-11-15 08:23.I run my skimmer on the wet side as well... actually allows for longer periods between cleaning since the foam is higner in the neck, and less goo collects on the inside of the neck, and more in the cup where it should be.

would be my guess.

I got the idea to drill some
Submitted by Tim224DT on Fri, 2007-11-16 00:20.I got the idea to drill some holes because after going to Marcos house a few times and seeing his skimmer with some holes in the lid and how much air flow was being pushed out of it. I got thinking mine doesnt have any holes so lets make some. The worse that could happen is it wouldnt make any difference. So i am guessing it is a back pressure thing also.
