Hi all, first of all thanks to wiszmaster for pointing me out to the Tampa Bay Reef Club sand power buy. I got in on it and hope it comes in by Friday. I used to live in Ft. Myers back from 91-93 when I graduated from Bishop Verot. Since then my parents have moved up to Tampa and I have a couple friends left down there. I have been back a couple times for work and wow has the place grown!!! I am going to be in town Sunday afternoon through Tuesday morning and want to check out some of the LFS. I will be staying with a buddy pretty much by Edison mall for reference. I have all Monday to check places out since the banquet I am attending is Monday evening. Let's hear what you recommend. Sorry I missed that collection trip. That sounded like it was fun. Thanks

There are the 2 Aquarium & Reef centers in Cape Coral - they have some decent livestock sometimes, but never seen anything spectacular there ... I know ConcreteReefer had his share of issues there ... I've never bought anything from them, just looked around. May be worth checking out as well.
Ocean Environments on US41 leaves alot to be desired ... I was in there about 2 weeks ago, and before that 4-5 weeks ago, and it gets dirtier, and more run down everytime i walk in. They have been talking about moving, and i think this may be the cause for the condition that the store is in, HOWEVER it's a pretty sad state of affair, and reminds me alot of what the naples OE store looked like when dustin rant hat .. OH WAIT - HE IS IN FM STORE NOW .. coincidence? lol.
Buy Fish Now is closed for business - they are trying to sell the store - it was a pump & dump business - doors are closed until who knows when.
Blue Water coral in Cape had very high quality livestock last time i was there, which has been along time, @ least 6-8 months ... The owner was very nice & personable ... very small store, mostly livestock.
Take care,
marco

Hi Andy! I was just at
Submitted by Melanie on Tue, 2007-10-23 17:35.Hi Andy! I was just at Artistik Aquariums and although a lovely store with a kind and friendly owner, it is brand new and there was not one coral in the store. From what I can tell, the beautiful new tanks are still cycling. They have those bait shrimp running around and just a handful of fish.
Once that store is established, I'm sure it will be incredible.
Melanie, I spoke with

I spoke with Jeovani last night, he said he had a shipment of a few fish & some starter coral coming in today - yes, it will be a nice store once it gets past the stocking up part.

Hey thanks guys. I will
Submitted by cannarella on Wed, 2007-10-24 15:43.Hey thanks guys. I will check out some of those stores. Unfortunately I don't think I will be able to pick up any live stock since it probably would not survive the 10+ hour ride back. I do need to go get some sea water for a guy. He wants some pods and what ever else comes with it. He is a retired professor that is getting into breeding and can talk your ear off. Would I be breaking any laws as long as I don't take any livestock. I want to be on the up and up. Any good places to get some nutrient rich salt water?
Andy
Saltwater ... Personally ...
Submitted by wiszmaster on Wed, 2007-10-24 21:11.Saltwater ... Personally ... I'd not use any from right down here. Since youa re going up to tampa - why not pick from there? Venice beach generally has some great water. very clear. The river brings some very nutrient laden water down here. Last week/over the weekend we had a nice fish kill right by sanibel.
